We Are Out-of-Network Providers
The doctors at Progressing Minds are considered “out-of-network” providers and do not accept insurance for payment for psychological assessment, executive-life coaching, or individual/group psychotherapy services. However, many insurance companies will offer reimbursement for out-of-network providers when you file a claim. If you decide to file with your insurance, please be sure to call your insurance company prior to your appointment to obtain authorization for your visit and determine your out-of-network benefits and coverage.
Our Secure Online Portal system sends out Superbills monthly, which you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network coverage or reimbursement. Reimbursement rates can vary based upon your coverage. Please understand you (not your insurance company) are ultimately responsible for all of your professional fees due to Progressing Minds, PLLC.
Maintaining Your Privacy is Our Priority
Many patients choose not to involve insurance companies in their mental health care. By paying privately or out of pocket, we can assure private pay clients of the highest degree of privacy, flexibility, and control of their mental health record allowed by Texas state law, since our records are exempt from insurance reporting and random compliance audits. If you choose to file with your insurance, please be advised that using insurance may impact the confidentiality of your mental health services as insurance companies periodically require patient information to pay claims.
How to Determine Your Out-of-Network Benefits:
If you would like to investigate the possibility of reimbursement for out-of-network coverage, please check your policy carefully and ask the following questions of your provider:
Are there out-of-network benefits for this policy?
Do I have a mental or behavioral health policy with out-of-network benefits?
Is prior authorization required?
Is a referral required from my primary care physician?
What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?
How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network mental health provider?
How do I obtain reimbursement for therapy or a psychological assessment with an out-of-network provider?
Is there a session limit, and how many sessions do I have left?
What percentage of services is covered?
What is the start date of the calendar year my out-of-network policy is based on?
